Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer GOOD TIME DONIE was threatening to become frustrating until Barry Geraghty sorted him out at Down Royal where he looked a real staying type in the soft ground. He makes his handicap debut here and will find it tougher but is on a fair mark and should be good enough. Whodoyouthink had been competing at a higher level before getting off the mark over timber in a handicap at Gowran but a 6lb rise and a longer trip may put paid to thoughts of a double. Marlay Park was having his 12th start over timber when easily landing a maiden over 2m6f on testing ground at Thurles. He's obviously a threat though he'd been beaten from higher marks than this previously. Benash was given a huge 10lb rise in the ratings after beating Garde Champetre in a handicap over the minimum trip at Naas and, along with the extra mile, that proved too much of a burden at Punchestown subsequently. Taking Stock fell twice over fences after landing a beginners' chase at Listowel. John Kiely gave him a confidence booster in a tough handicap back over timber at Leopardstown last time and he looks well enough treated to prove a threat to all.
