In depth

Verdict

On The Shannon has gone up 5lb for his first victory under Rules at Naas but he looks capable of further progress and should get into the action. Rightville Boy, who was around five lengths behind, should get closer at the revised weights without reversing the form. Better B Quick had been running poorly before a much better effort over the course and distance a fortnight ago but the vote goes to DUNROE BOY despite the fact he's never won over regulation fences. A spell between the flags appears to have done the trick for the ten year old, who gave rookie trainer Thomas Coyle his first winner when successful over hurdles at Kilbeggan in June and he's still on a very lowly mark back over the bigger obstacles. Coolnagorna Giggs ran poorly at Thurles a couple of weeks ago and though Witness Of Fashion has a course and distance victory to his credit he was badly out of form last season and has had a long break.
