Willie Mullins has won this twice in recent years and OPEN EAGLE can continue the trend. The winner of three of his last four on the Flat for David O'Meara, including on heavy ground, he started odds on for his hurdling debut in February but a mistake at the last put paid to his chances. Investmentsuccess beat the useful Draco in a bumper here and gradually improved in his three starts over hurdles and with further progress likely he can provide a threat. Joshua Lane, a close third in last year's Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, reappeared with an encouraging run over timber at Punchestown and fitness could play a big part on this testing ground. Rebel Turn showed potential earlier this year and should be winning soon but winning point to pointer State Of Origin may need further. Goulane Davina also scored between the flags and she has produced two decent efforts over timber so her allowance can see her in the firing line. Double Island and First Post are others to consider in an interesting opener.
