Winning point-to-pointer Gracchus De Balme took advantage of heavy ground at Clonmel so more rain would aid his cause. Gordon Elliott is strongly represented and Navan winner Bodhisattva may prove best of them as Ballykeel jumped poorly at Naas last time. Digby completed a double on this sort of going in the autumn and ran well for a long way on heavy ground at Navan last month but Innovated disappointed here last time after landing a maiden on the track. Billable Grant was a shock winner at Down Royal, as was Willaston at Down Royal, but the vote in a very competitive heat goes to L'YSER, a 12-length winner of a maiden here in January when well supported. Womalko has only run on testing ground so more rain wouldn't go amiss.
