Verdict

Considering the competitive nature of this, it's strange that none of them won last time out. Nearest The PIn was having his ninth start over fences when landing a beginners' event at Ballinrobe but has since run even better to finish a close second to Lost Legend at Kempton. Cootamundra landed a very tough handicap at Navan in November but that was over 3m while Treat Yourself went up 9lb for an easy victory at Leopardstown and couldn't quite cope at Gowran. Abbey Lane is rated 5lb higher over hurdles so looks well treated on his handicap debut over fences but stablemate Dogora broke a blood vessel when a long way behind Some Tikket at Gowran. BURN AND TURN was beaten narrowly by subsequent Kim Muir winner Spring Heeled at Killarney in August and has been confined to hurdles since. He wouldn't want the ground to turn heavy but looks the one to be on.
