The short list for this opener comprises of Georges Boy, Mark The Book, Man Overboard and Kofi and we take Mark The Book to score. Philip Hobbs' charge showed plenty of promise on his Towcester debut, handling the stiff track well in soft ground and he will get a similar sort of test here. Arguably the step up in trip will help his cause and he is taken to go one better here. The extra distance should also help man overboard, who shaped up well over 17 furlongs on heavy ground at Chepstow and who looked in need of a trip that day. He can only improve. Georges Boy has bags of experience but none of it has yielded a win so far. He handles this ground well but again looks susceptible to a younger opponent and is passed over today. of the other, Kofi is tried over this trip for the first time in the hope that it will elicit some improvement from him. His second here over 19f last time would give him frame claims once more, but we prefer Mark The Book to take the prize.
