Only two of the 12 starters completed this marathon last year and the going will again be testing. Woodford County is a course and distance winner who has his ground and is starting to look well handicapped. Barton Gift won here last April and has been successful twice over staying trips at Bangor this season. He also goes on the short-list but this company may be too hot for Plumpton runner-up Talk Of The South and West Of The Edge is still creeping up the weights. Vice Et Vertu disappointed at Warwick after winning at Ludlow but Mountainous kept on well behind stablemate Goodtoknow at Hereford and Taunton scorer Abracadabra Sivola might appreciate a further step up in distance. Theatrical Star rarely runs a bad race but the handicapper has taken a chance dropping SPOOKYDOOKY another 6lb since his latest run at Warwick. That wasn’t a bad effort and Jonjo O’Neill’s stayer is now 15lb lower than when fourth in last year’s Midlands Grand National - his stable won this in 2010 and 2015. Millicent Silver came good around this time last year and will have been freshened up by a recent spin over hurdles.
