Verdict

Spookydooky is racing off the same mark as when favourite and third in this marathon last year. He’ll strip fitter for a recent run at Chepstow, his first since a wind op. Gingili hasn’t raced since winning over 3m here in October but has gone well fresh in the past. Emperor's Choice fell at the first in the Welsh Grand National but won over 3m4f at Haydock the time before and Knockanrawley would also have claims if forgiven a poor run in the Peter Marsh. Yanmare beat Jepeck over track and trip in December but is often let down by his jumping and Shotgun Paddy is looking a light for former days. Act Now is preferred to stablemate Cresswell Breeze but Dawson City has become hard to predict. THOMAS PATRICK looked a real stayer in the making when rallying to beat Step Back at Chepstow. He was raised 6lb for that but the first two pulled well clear and Richard Johnson keeps faith with the six-year-old.
