CHAMBARD was a Grade 1 bumper winner in his native France. A recent second at Ffos Las was his best run to date over timber and any further improvement would put him in the firing-line here. Golden Promise was a bit disappointing last time at Hereford after an earlier second at that track but Western Duke made his hurdling debut in a hot contest at Newbury and wasn’t disgraced. The aptly-named Haldon Hill won a bumper here last month and should go well if he takes to jumping but Rococo River had an unfortunate experience at Hereford last March and has taken a while to recover.
