        Verdict

        The concession of 7lbs to Il Duce may prove to be beyond Big Bone and it is Alan King's gelding that gets the vote with Old Rowley and Miko de Beauchene rated the best of the remainder. The selection showed promise in bumpers before opening his account at Lingfield and made an encouraging start to his hurdling career when finding just Limited Edition too good at Doncaster last month. With further improvement anticipated, Il Duce is taken to go one better here. Old Rowley ran well in a Warwick bumper on his only previous start and has to be respected now that the Henderson yard is back among the winners, while Smart Mover probably needs to improve on the form of his Hereford second to trouble the selection. Double Header has more to do under a penalty than when winning here in December and of more interest may be Star Angler, especially now that the stable of Henry Daly is beginning to fire. Robert Alner's Miko De Beauchene has run to a decent level of form in his two starts over hurdles and has to be respected but Il Duce holds solid claims and gets the vote.
