Several of these had entries yesterday so this race may be an after-thought. Karl Philippe just lost out after a protracted duel with Dock Road here last month. He did nothing wrong that day and compensation should be forthcoming in the coming weeks with his yard enjoying a terrific campaign. However, we just prefer GLADIATEUR ALLEN on this occasion as his Ffos Las conqueror Pats Fancy went on to run a cracker in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham and Jane Williams’ charge will know more today. Martinhal may improve on his runs at Wetherby and Ffos Las following wind surgery.
