    In depth

    Verdict

A decent Hunters Chase with many in with a chance including Gilzine, Polar Summit, Lord Code and To The Top with the vote going to the last named. The selection has been winning point to points this season in the midlands area and was slightly disappointing when only seventh of ten in a Newbury hunt race last time out. Having said that this is as not as competitive and he is worth chances with once more. Gilzine lost nothing in defeat behind prolific point winner Cannon Bridge at Chepstow last time out. He ran on strongly and jumped well so is one to note. Polar Summit had a few problems with his jumping when last seen under rules when trained by Nigel Twiston Davies. He has since won between the flags but it still remains to be seen how he handles regulation fences. Lord Code is a bigger threat to the selection but again he can hit fences so for the winner we return to To The Top.
