Verdict

LEGAL HISTORY (NAP) won hard-held at Ascot nine days ago having found only one too good at Doncaster and Newbury earlier. He’s clearly improving at a rate of knots and it will be a surprise if the Pipe four-year-old can’t shrug off his penalty here and complete a quick double. Clayton was bought out of Fakenham seller last month and now runs for Archie Watson - he’s consistent but lacks the scope of the selection. Red Mix fell at the first at Huntingdon and is still seeking a first win for Richard Newland and Sao is a hard puller, though has had a wind operation since tailed off at Kempton in November. First Figaro has run in three handicaps and has been tailed off on each occasion.
