In the mares' race, Bonchester Bridge gets the call ahead of Bally Bolshoi. Bally Bolshoi looked to be very much on the upgrade last time when winning over course and distance and she can go well again today despite the steadier of her double penalty. Lady Maranzi is also on the up, although her two recent wins have come at selling so Bonchester Bridge could be the one to focus on. Nicky Henderson's mare had looked good in bumpers and hurdles prior to her latest run and, given time to recover from that below-par display at Huntingdon, she can go well for her in-form yard. Interestingly, Bally Bolshoi's sister, Miss Flossy also runs in this race, but she could not be fancied on her debut, while the others are hard to fancy. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Bonchester Bridge.
