A competitive affair gets proceedings under way but the TEAMtalk selection is Mister Wellard. The gelding from the Paul Nicholls yard was a good bumper winner and was in the process of shaking up the highly regarded The Biker when he slipped on landing having held every chance two out on his hurdling debut- if he gets around he will be hard to beat. Our Vic is an Old Vic gelding from a top yard and the market could prove the best guide as to what is expected. Lord Nellsson was a good second behind Thisthatandtother at Wincanton but has since disappointed at Huntingdon, however if he bounced back to his best he would be a danger to all. Ela La Senza also has place claims on a fifth behind Porak but will have to improve in the jumping stakes to score. The remainder need to improve on all known form to score but Over Bridge has plenty of scope and it would be no surprise if he has improved on what he has shown so far.
