In depth

Verdict

Magic Marmalade looks a very hard ride and needed all of his jockey's urgings to win over fences at Newton Abbot last month. He may be worth taking on here with GULF PUNCH, on whom Jason Maguire has a good strike rate. The mare is back up in distance for the first time since scoring over 3m1f at Musselburgh in November and could appreciate the better ground. Sea Saffron was hammered by the handicapper after scraping home in a novices' handicap over C&D 15 days ago and Free Advice needs to improve if he's to get involved.
