A typically-competitive renewal but The Queen’s Seniority looks up against it as he hasn’t raced since a couple of runs at Meydan at the start of the year. Hors De Combat showed he was no back number at Newbury, however, and Firmament did likewise at York. The latter’s yard also run Hortzadar, the choice of Danny Tudhope, and he’s won at Pontefract and Redcar this season, though has a wide draw. Greenside beat Masham Star at Windsor having run well previously at Newbury but that pair are also drawn towards the outside. Rufus King is probably better over 7f but the returning Nicklaus looks a threat to all, especially if the going dries out further. HISTORY WRITER was given too much to do at Sandown but looks to be coming to hand and could recoup losses here if Jason Watson rides him closer to the pace.
