Wiggy Smith really caught the eye at Sandown on his second start of the campaign and he is fancied to get the better of in-form rivals Clipperdown and Gavroche. Course specialist Burgundy is also respected as player at this level while Factual Lad can also figure strongly if he runs anywhere near his best. Gavroche will benefit from the assistance of Frankie Dettori and is sure to be popular for that reason alone. However, he is also in great heart at present and this determined character will be hard to keep out the frame. Clipperdown looked a progressive individual when he returned to form earlier in the campaign. However, he ran as if the handicapper is close to having his measure at Newmarket last month and, although he has been freshened up by a 30-day break, he now has a bit to prove. Therefore, we switch to Wiggy Smith, who is Henry Candy's solitary runner at the course today. Candy never wastes his visits to any of the higher profile courses and his charge can give the Epsom crowds some Bank Holiday cheer now that he has proved his well being again.
