Verdict
MECADO justified his odds-on rating with an easy success at Brighton on his second start and looks the sort to make further progress under the tutelage of the Hannon juvenile academy. The return to a seventh furlong is not an inconvenience and he's on an acceptable mark for this handicap debut. Digital Rebellion is steadily getting his act together for Godolphin but may still need a little more time whilst the jury is out on Jumeirah Glory after a disappointing effort at Doncaster. He's probably much better than that. Guiding Light and Kifaaya are respected but Outback Ruler looks the main danger after posting a much-improved performance on handicap debut when beaten under a length into third spot by Power Play at Newbury.
