A disappointingly small field for what is a decent prize, and John Gosden appears to have found Silver Gilt a good opportunity to start his season with a win. The Silver Hawk colt was heavily backed to win a Doncaster maiden last year and was then second in a group 3 contest at Longchamp, which is comfortably the best form on offer in this race. The Manton horses are not exactly setting the world alight at present, but he is expected to score at the main expense of Gala Sunday. Barry Hills' colt has a fitness edge, having notched a very easy win on his reappearance at Pontefract, but may just lack the class to cope with the selection. Franklins Gardens would have to improve significantly on his maiden win at Ayr last year, while Rejess faces a very stiff task.
