      In depth

      Verdict

Surprise Exhibit finished lame at Haydock on his final start last year and has been gelded since. Hector De Maris was improving at the end of last year and won a Naas handicap under a big weight in November. Pythagoras carries a penalty courtesy of his Pontefract Listed win in the autumn but he’s won three of his five starts and Uncle Bryn is 2-2 on the all-weather. Collateral form gives Too Friendly the edge over STAR CALIBER but Andrew Balding’s Goodwood winner, half-brother to the useful Agrotera, has far more scope and could also get the better of Wirko, having a first run on Turf, and Technique.
