With the Sir Mark Prescott stable in good form, Oblique is taken to add to the tally at the expense of Mpenzi, Silent Jo and Chocolate Caramel to name but three. Like so many of Prescott's inmates, Oblique was given a quiet time as a juvenile before showing her true potential in her second season. The daughter of Giant's Causeway was produced fit and ready to land a Newcastle maiden over nine furlongs in August and then defied a five-pound rise on her handicap debut at Beverley a week later. She is now set to race off 81 but given the fact that she has probably been hiding her light under a bushel, that mark is not harsh and a hat-trick should be forthcoming. Mpenzi looks to be the main danger after his good effort at Bath but the feeling is that this might be on the short side now. Silent Jo was give a good ride when scoring in maiden company at Bath but has it to do off his weight, while Chocolate Caramel hails from an in-form stable but has to carry topweight. Oblique is taken to defy the handicapper and complete a hat-trick.
