Fire Two will be all the rage here to see off the likes of Red Duster, Linas Selection and Persian Express, with solid form to back up his claims. Mick Channon's juvenile made an encouraging debut at Doncaster, finishing a close third to Emirates Skyline despite the slow conditions, and then had the misfortune to bump into another Godolphin inmate when touched off narrowly by Familiar Territory at Salisbury at the end of last month. With those two promising runs under his belt, the son of Cape Cross should have too much experience for his eight rivals today, with Linas Selection perhaps the one to chase him home. Mark Johnston seldom wastes his visits to Epsom and his charge appeared to be going the right way when fourth behind subsequent Gimcrack hero Amadeus Wolf in May. He might just need this though after being absent since May and will no doubt find the selection too sharp. Red Duster has a lot to do to repay his 270,000gns purchase price on the evidence of a poor debut when favourite at Hamilton, but he can only improve on that and may figure along with Persian Express who did not seem to act on Goodwood's soft surface on her introduction. All in all, Fire Two has by far the best credentials and should make no mistake this time.
