Although rated six pounds higher than for last year's win in this race, Salim Toto can land the race again, her main dangers being Muhareb and Gulf. The Hughie Morrison-trained mare has proven that she can go well fresh so the fact that it is her seasonal return can be overcome. Sentinel seemed all at seas at Goodwood when he was last seen so it will be interesting to see how he copes here, so the main danger to the selection could well prove to be game York winner Muhareb (now rated six pounds higher), and Gulf, who could well prove better suited by this shorter trip after a fair run in the Yorkshire Cup. Mesmeric, who is rated highly by his trainer but has yet to fully reveal his ability, might just find that the nature of this track keeps him interested.
