Philario has looked an improved performer this year and Plum Pudding won takingly at Warwick but a chance is taken with MORE TIME TIM. Local trainer Jim Boyle will be keen to saddle a winner over the course of the two days and his new recruit has been progressing well enough to believe that he can be involved. He's won four of his seven starts and risen 18lbs in the weights since arriving from Ireland and has yet to race on turf for this yard but should have no problems with the conditions and may not be held by the assessor yet. Philario is 7lbs higher than when winning a Curragh handicap in heavy ground which was a fine effort and he's proven under quicker conditions. He looks sure to run a big race and his chance is hard to fault. Plum Pudding had reserved his best performances for Newmarket prior to his impressive return and the subsequent performances of Dream Eater and Carcinetto have given the race more substance than seemed likely at the time. South Cape was a nearly horse in so many big handicaps for Mick Channon and it will be interesting to see how he fares for Gary Moore this term. He's on a competitive mark as are Bencoolen and Royal Power although the latter has performed poorly on his last two starts and the former is by far preferred of the two Nicholls runners and appeared to handle the track when a shade unlucky over ten furlongs in April. Intabih has been struggling for form and there are doubts as to whether this track will suit Tartan Gigha although neither he nor Capable Guest are without claims but the latter has a modest strike rate. Only nine go to post but it wouldn't surprise to see any of them win, the suggestion is More Time Tim.
