DARKNESS met trouble in the Victoria Cup and that run should have put David O’Meara’s inmate spot on for this assignment. He's preferred to stablemate Orbaan. Saleymm is a useful sort at the top of the weights and Harry Burns can take off a valuable 5lb, while at the bottom of the handicap, the eye is drawn to Nuvolari. The latter won on debut over track and trip last season and wasn’t disgraced at Goodwood in a race on fairly testing ground. Top Secret has been consistent and may improve for a seasonal reappearance while Mykonos St John ran a solid race in defeat at Chester last week and is back before the handicapper has a say on the matter.
