Verdict

It can be argued that AROD was a little disappointing when beaten in Listed company on his return to action at Ascot in late April but that was a first run since Peter Chapple-Hyam sent his talented sort to Australia last year to compete in Group 1 company. He'll be straighter now and sets a strong standard on his overall profile, most notably when winning this race last season to confirm he acts well on the track and when an excellent second to the best miler in Europe, Solow, in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood last July. A return to that level would make him too strong for this opposition. Decorated Hero has always suggested that he's capable of more than achievements to date but his reappearance when landing a Goodwood Listed contest does indicate the lightly-raced colt has indeed more to come. That success was delivered over 10 furlongs though and we'll have to see if he's as effective back down in trip. Mindyourownbusiness is interesting back on Turf for the first time since August 2014 while the likes of Custom Cut, Sovereign Debt and Tullius usually run their races at this level with the last-named an each-way recommendation due to his effectiveness on soft ground.
