Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan took this way back in 2002 but Pleasant Day will need to run very much better than he did at York if there's to be a repeat. Beaumont's Party has struck form with a vengeance and his two recent victories were gained with the minimum of fuss. He's certain to give a good account though an 11lb rise may just be enough to prevent a hat-trick. Prompter has run very well over the C&D in the past and his most recent defeats have all been at 1m4f so he's no forlorn hope despite a big weight. RESURGE won twice here last season and very nearly made it three on his reappearance when just held by Spanish Duke. He missed the break at York last time but the handicapper has taken pity and dropped him 2lb which may be enough to enable him to gain another track success. The lightly-raced and very progressive Dhaamer found 1m4f stretching his stamina on his final start last season and returns to action on a reasonable mark.
