Not a race to be dogmatic about but BENLLECH is taken to come good again, while Baldemar could be forecast material. David Simcock saddles two here and Benllech would appear the first string. Six furlongs and fast ground suit the five-year-old, who has gone close on both his last two starts, but now has to contend with a 2lbs higher mark. Even so, he has won from a similar rating on the Polytrack and we will stick with him. Baldemar was a course and distance winner at the Derby meeting but did not get the breaks at Newcastle last time and he needs a career best if he is to return to winning ways. Abraham Lincoln would have a major chance if able to recapture old form, but that looks doubtful on recent evidence and we will oppose. Mac Gille Eoin has winning form here and is on a reasonable enough mark to get involved. He is not in bad form at present and may well take home some prize money, but preference is for Benllech.
