This year's Oaks can go to Passage Of Time ahead of Simply Perfect, Dalvina and All My Loving. Henry Cecil has a strong hand here but Passage Of Time looks his best bet given the forecast soft ground. A winner of her last four starts, her dam won over this trip at three so the step up in trip shouldn't be a problem. She bolted up on soft ground at HQ last October and can land this famous race for Henry Cecil who farmed this race in the late 90's. Stablemate Light Shift is yet to race on ground this soft but was impressive at Chester last time out (showed a good turn of foot) and holds All My Loving on that form. The latter has plenty of scope for improvement and looks the pick of Aiden O'Brien's runners. Measured Tempo represents Godolphin having won her two starts to date in effortless fashion. Soft ground is a major plus and she must go on the shortlist. Simply Perfect should have come on for her excellent run in the 1000 Guineas (good third), however whilst she has won on ground with some give in she wouldn't want the ground to deteriorate any further. Four Sins would prefer better ground so is passed over, along with Dalvina. She has enormous potential and annihilated a decent field at HQ on her last start. She looks likely to handle the track however the unknown factor is the ground which raises enough of a doubt to pass her over. A race that sets the pulse racing can go to Henry Cecil's Passage Of Time, a win that would bring the house down.
