Joseph O'Brien complicates matters by saddling three, all of them quite lightly-raced, and both Ruby Gates and War Goddess are capable of improvement. The former is probably best of the trio at this stage having been narrowly beaten over 1m4f here last week where she looked as though this shorter trip would suit. Mosman, a winner at Wolverhampton, very nearly gained his first success on this track three weeks ago when just failing to cope with the late run of Free State when carrying 2lb overweight so he should go close from his correct mark. Carvelas ran well last week but needs further, a remark that also applies to winning hurdler Alterno. SEREFELI hasn't won since making a successful debut in 2015 and didn't race on this surface until early last month when a close fourth. He improved a position a couple of weeks later and, with Pat Smullen taking over the reins, he's given the vote to make a belated return to the winner's enclosure.
