In depth

Verdict

CALIFORNIA ROSE gained her first all-weather victory last week when getting up on the line to catch Atlas Peak and, with just a 3lb rise to contend with she's taken to complete a quick double. Stynes has been threatening to win for some time but hasn't quite managed it yet and keeps going up in the weights. Clare Harrier was in tremendous form at this time a year ago and will be better for last week's reappearance, his first run since May. Golan Heights is running well enough to get involved though a strike-rate of 1-46 is off-putting but Settle For Red is better than he showed last time where he pulled much too hard in the lead.
