Great Wide Open ran well behind Bishan Bedi here a fortnight ago and is one of the few with prospects of improvement. Kodiak's Back has been in excellent form over 7f and is probably better over this extra furlong. After reappearing after a three-year absence with a victory over 7f, HEAVY WEIGHT has twice been a beaten favourite over much longer trips. He gets a chance to recoup losses here. Mr Soprano was consistent for Stuart Williams in the UK and can win races on this track for new connections while Northern Surprise and Hat Alnasar battled out a finish over 7f a month ago and both have no problems with the extra. The latter was just touched off by Song Of Love here in February but is much better off at the weights and should confirm the form. The former Mick Channon-trained Deeds Not Words has never run beyond 6f in 33 starts but his new trainer is very adept at placing his horses.
