Verdict

Michael Wigham isn't one for wasting journeys so Nick Vedder, who has been in excellent form on Tapeta at Newcastle, is greatly respected. Master Speaker, 1-53 on Turf, has done better on this surface having won three times here. He completed a double by winning this race on his return to action last season but is 11lb higher. Stanhope made a successful debut for new connections in December and has gone well in both subsequent starts off his new mark and was conceding Amanaat 3lb when beaten 2l last time though that was over the minimum. Billyfairplay continues in cracking form despite a massive rise in the ratings for his three victories and was in the lead at this trip before outstayed by Nisior Donn, who was receiving 13lb, over 7f last week. Geological is consistent enough but on a long losing run while the 2017 winner Togoville hasn't been in the best of form. VIEW THE BAY has won over 7f and the minimum trip in the past few weeks and this looks her trip. She easily beat Danz Gift a couple of weeks ago and though up 7lb she's lightly raced and still on the upgrade.
