      Verdict

      Royal Cosmic carries 6lb extra bidding for a hat-trick after scoring over track and trip. But the rise in class may prove a bigger hindrance while Glan Y Gors came up short in this grade attempting a hat-trick of course and distance wins when the disappointing favourite Native Fighter could only manage fourth. STAR OF SOUTHWOLD won over 1m2f at Chelmsford last month but Mick Appleby’s charge has scope for further progress back over today’s longer trip. He gets the vote with prolific winning hurdler Red Tornado one to keep an eye on having slipped down the weights on the Flat and having only his second start for new connections today.
