    Verdict

Admiral Mae made the early running but weakened quickly when tackling a mile on soft ground at Thurles last week. Sobriety Blue showed good pace at Down Royal and will improve but BARNSO has come up against two very smart winners and had Small Fry just behind when runner-up to the long odds-on Stomberg at Roscommon. Harry The Rogue didn't act on heavy ground at Listowel but would have to be considered on his mid-summer form on better going. Wackerjack was cheaply-bought but is a half-brother to the useful Tawaazon while Maxwell Smart is a half-brother to four winners.
