A rare opportunity for amateurs to perform on this surface but it certainly won't bother Katie Walsh who takes the ride on her father's Paramount. He was in good form during the summer, scoring at the Curragh from just 1lb lower and is an obvious threat to all. Kevin Power will ensure Pivotal Rock gets a good ride and his mount has won on the sand at Laytown and run well on his last two starts at this track. Mosstown has been in poor form over hurdles recently so this can go to TRIBES AND BANNERS under regular point-to-point champion Derek O'Connor. Charlie Swan's charge has won twice here and though he's shot up in the weights as a consequence he hasn't been beaten far from his new mark and can go in again. Sparring Partner was too far behind him for both of those victories and is much better off at the weights while Noel Meade's UK import Westhaven has won twice on Polytrack and looks to be starting from a reasonable handicap mark.
