Verdict
Kevin Prendergast has made a flying start to the campaign and Tashqeel, who owes his many supporters plenty after being beaten at short odds in all four starts last season, is the definite form pick on his short-head defeat by Whipless at the Curragh. However, John Oxx has also made a bright start and his once-raced filly EMIYNA, who has entries in most of the big early-season fillies' races, has the scope to go on to much better things. Girl Guide was going well here at the backend of last year while Charpoy ran well over a mile in October. The newcomer Ballroom, a daughter of Storm Cat out of 1000 Guineas winner Virginia Waters, is another with classic entries and should be monitored in the betting along with Jim Bolger's Gort Na Mona.
