MAINICIN, a winner at Leopardstown in July, has surprisingly been dropped in the ratings despite a couple of recent narrow defeats and though a couple of pounds out of the handicap should take advantage of the assessor's leniency. Poitin is 10lb higher than when scoring here in April but has been competing at a higher level than this. My Direction is better known as a jumper and though runner-up over this trip at Naas he was beaten a long way but Carried looks quite well treated having finished behind Poitin twice earlier this year but much better off at the weights. Macnicholson will be back over hurdles soon but had some smart form on the Flat and is on the same mark as when scoring over this trip at Gowran last August.
