Two stand out on recent form. Backbench Blues made a promising debut at Down Royal in July when beaten only a length in second. He should improve for that experience but FIBRIL looks on an upward curve too as he defied big odds to finish runner-up at Cork last month. Another step forward here should see him off the mark. Shukhov failed to improve when stepped up to today's trip at Galway last time, but Irish Fling may do better with a debut run at Tipperary under his belt. Caonach and Honour And Obey could prove best of the newcomers.
