ALMENDARES couldn't get to grips with Vanguard Star over the trip a fortnight ago but didn't get the clearest of runs and compensation awaits. Zero Fighter made a promising start over a mile the same day but this is a big drop in trip while Un Bacio Ancona has now had 14 starts and though running consistently in handicaps is vulnerable to an improver. Another four-year-old, Twilight Steel, showed promise for Amy Murphy in the UK last year and James McAuley will find a race for her while Heartrate was well supported on testing ground at Cork in September but found one too good though the third has won subsequently.
