JARVIS has suffered two narrow defeats over the track and trip in his last three starts and a rating of 86 puts him firmly in the driving seat. Ano Syra has changed stables since a promising debut at Tipperary in June though a line through the runner-up gives her plenty to find with the selection. Daintree has been running a bit better than form figures suggest though she’ll need massive improvement to take a hand while Jaas Yard was beaten a long way on last month’s debut here.
Jaas Yard (IRE) 150-1 (9-7) Upset in stalls, slowly into stride and pushed along early, soon ran freely in rear, pushed along again halfway, ridden and no extra 2f out, 13th of 14, 19 1/4l behind Crystal City (9-7) at Dundalk 7f mdn pol in Nov.
Jarvis (IRE) 5-2 (9-7) Led, strongly pressed inside final furlong, headed and kept on without matching winner close home, 2nd of 9, 1/2l behind Orinoco River (9-2) at Dundalk 5f mdn pol in Oct.
Ano Syra (IRE) 50-1 (9-2) Tracked leaders, 3rd halfway, 4th and pushed along over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong, 4th of 8, 6l behind Ladies Church (9-2) at Tipperary 5f mdn fll gf in Jun.
Daintree (IRE) 66-1 (8-6) Held up in mid-division and wide, ridden and closer on outer 2f out, no extra 1f out, kept on one pace final furlong, 8th of 13, 6 1/4l behind Marsa (9-9) at Dundalk 6f hcp pol in Nov.
