SIR BENFORD WALES was having just his fourth start when making all for a comfortable victory at Killarney where he would have won even more convincingly but for a few novice errors. He can defy a penalty though Muroor won a handicap over slightly shorter here before racing on the sand at Laytown. Cold Shoulder did a bit better when stepped up to 2m4f at Perth though the main threat may come from Aasleagh Dawn, a maiden winner here in July before a good second at Wexford. Teqany won a Tramore maiden on good ground and his later runs on the Flat and over timber have been on softer going.
