In depth

Verdict

Billaway, the former champion hunter-chaser, has failed to finish in two of his last four and isn't the force of old. Dento Des Obeaux ran a fine race in the Foxhunters' at Aintree having previously won a maiden hunters' event at Thurles by 22 lengths. VAUCELET was narrowly beaten by Billaway at Punchestown a year ago but has made the better progress. He started favourite for the championship race at Cheltenham and though only seventh followed that was a cracking effort at Punchestown. Shantou Show is a very progressive hunter but takes on stronger company.
