Gold Sensation had shown promise in bumpers before a fine hurdling debut over this C&D. She fell at Kilbeggan next time but is the type to make progress. Fearchar has been going well in juvenile company but this is a little tougher and Caracal hasn't shown much so far for Gordon Elliott though there should be better to come. Lonesome Maverick ran very well in a Down Royal handicap in May and has had a couple of runs on the Flat recently and it's about time Granaruid was winning a race though he ran a shocker at Roscommon last time. Point-to-point winner MISTER FIRST has had just two runs over timber and showed enough potential in both to suggest he can make further progress and take this competitive opener.
