In depth

Verdict

Plough Boy bounced back to winning ways at Naas, his 13th career victory, and though 5lb higher won from this mark last summer. He's drawn on the outside which is no problem while Polly Douglas has an inside berth. Kieran Cotter's mare couldn't quite get up in a huge field over 6f at the Curragh at the weekend but won over this trip at Dundalk in November and Nathan Crosse is excellent value for his claim. However, HEE HAW showed really good pace in that former event and was beaten less than 2l so the shorter trip will be to his advantage and he gets the nod. His stable companion Ty Rock Brandy has never won on Turf but the three-year-old Aloysius Lilius, a nursery winner at Haydock for Kevin Ryan, is an interesting entry from new connections.
