In depth

Verdict

ENCOSTA took a step forward when runner-up at Naas 11 days ago having finished third on her debut at Leopardstown and just gets the nod over the slightly more-exposed Alabama Pearl, even though Johnny Murtagh’s filly is also still on an upward curve. Grange Lady is the pick of the others with experience but the newcomers may pose a bigger threat with Operatic Artist being a half-sister to the stable’s Listed winner No Needs Never and preferred to stablemate Ciorcal. Ger Lyons knows the family of Perfect Poise as he trained her dam, who won three times including in Listed company.
