Verdict

Cartmell Cleave and Buccaneers Vault both stayed on late in the race won by Galloway Hills at York and should get closer on the revised terms. Captain Jameson is slowly coming to hand as he slips down the weights but EQUIANO SPRINGS (NAP) looks the one to beat in his current mood. Tom Tate’s gelding has won three of six starts since reverting to this trip and was second in the others. He’s gone up 6lb since successful over course and distance six weeks ago but did win off this mark on the all-weather in February.
