In depth

Verdict

Matters Most was second in this grade at Ripon before finishing last in a Group 2 at Newbury. After finishing second in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and the Acomb at York, Ballymount Boy tried his luck in the Grand Criterium but pulled too hard and weakened approaching the final furlong. The drop back to 6f may help but he also looks exposed. Alaskan Gold got outpaced over 5f at Newmarket but this is a big step up in class for Global Skies. AL SHABAB STORM easily landed the odds at Goodwood, beating two previous winners. He can get the better of Esquire, clear of the remainder when a close second in this grade at York, and the Yarmouth scorer Moswaat.
