In depth

Verdict

Candidato Roy is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Celtic Sultan and Dijeer. The selection sprang a surprise when winning the Challenge Cup at Ascot at odds of 50/1. He ploughed a lone furrow on that occasion but then didn't run too well for Frankie next time up. Any ground suits and nicely treated at the weights in this conditions race, he should go well. Dijeer was promising for Michael Jarvis and ran well on his first UK start for Godolphin. He is effective on any ground and with more to come he must be respected. Celtic Sultan comes here in good form and Tom Tate's progressive three-year-old is not to be passed over lightly. Appalachian Trail is very capable but Ian Semple's gelding will do very well to give weight away to the whole field. Don't rule out a return to form for Obe Brave, however Candidato Roy is fancied to score.
